Beef In Beer



Ingredients

800g chuck steak cut in chunks
2 onion thinly sliced
potatoes (as needed)
butter (nob)
3 sprigs thyme
Brussel sprouts(as needed)
Small bottle of guinness (or dark beer)
2 table spoons tomato paste
Olive oil

Directions

Preheat oven to 150 degrees Celsius. Fry onions in a little oil in a casserole dish with a lid until soft. Remove from pan.

Brown the meat well in batches. Add back the onions, pour in the beer, add the sprigs of thyme, sprinkle with pepper and add the tomato paste. Bring to the boil. Transfer to the oven and bake for one and a half hours.

Near serving time boil the potatoes. Once boiled mash the potatoes adding salt, pepper and butter. At the same time boil or steam brussel sprouts.
